In an interview with CBS, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has denied using chemical weapons. The full interview done by Charlie Rose is set to air on Monday.
In the interview Assad denied any use of chemical weapons, saying there was no evidence:
There has been no evidence that I used chemical weapons against my own people
Assad also went on to warn that if the United States carries out a military strike, Syria's allies would retaliate.
The Obama administration has been pushing for a military strike against the Syrian regime, accusing it of using chemical weapons against it's own people. President Obama is set to make a case before the America people on Tuesday, with both houses of congress voting on the matter as well.
