Farmingville - On September 7, Show Dog-Universal Music recording country artist Joel Crouse played for “Vets Rock” in Farmingville, New York.
It was presented by “My Country 96.1 FM” and this show pays tribute to the men and women in the U.S. military. Crouse opened for such musical acts as Rachel Holder, The Farm, Florida Georgia Line, Love and Theft, Thompson Square and headliner Brantley Gilbert.
The singer-songwriter opened his six-song set with “Even the River Runs.”
“Hey. How are you guys doing,” he shouted. “It feels good to be at the ‘Vets Rock’ concert.”
The country singer continued, “My name is Joel Crouse and I am originally from Massachusetts.”
Crouse noted that his follow-up vocal “Don’t Tell Me” is a “beer-drinking song” and a “cool” tune. “How are you doing Long Island?” he asked his New York concertgoers.
He shared that he has been out on radio tours, as well as opening for global music phenom Taylor Swift, where one of his performances was at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey; moreover, Crouse continued with his new song “Oh Juliet,” which was well-received and he thanked the audience in return.
He subsequently revealed that he is a big fan of The Eagles and joked that he was not referring to the football team, and immediately broke into their classic song “Take It Easy” and he had the audience clapping along with him. Judging from his impressive rendition, it is safe to say that he was born to sing this Eagles tune.
It was followed by “Summer Love” and he went on to praise his band for their instrumental work. “Give it up for my band. We are going to jam,” he said.
He concluded his set with his breakthrough single and Top 35 country hit “If You Want Some,” where he was able to get the crowd on their feet.
“Thank you guys so much,” he said prior to exiting the stage and he went over to the merchandise table to sign autographs and take pictures with his fans.
The Verdict
Overall, Joel Crouse proved yet again that he is one gifted live country music performer. Despite playing for approximately 30 minutes, he was able to put on a great set and he got the audience warmed up for the musical acts that followed him. His vocals were captivating and he has a lot of potential to make it big in the country scene.
