Sanctus Real is made up of Matt Hammitt on lead vocals and guitar, Chris Rohman on guitar, Pete Prevost on piano, banjo and guitar, drummer Mark Graalman and Dan Gartley on bass. The group has been nominated for two Grammy awards and they have received many Gospel Music Association (GMA) Dove nominations. In 2005, their album “Fight the Tide” was named “Modern Rock Album of the Year” by the GMA.
The tune was co-penned by Hammitt and Rohman from the group, as well as Christopher Stevens, a Grammy-winning producer and engineer. Their song’s music video is uplifting and it has already garnered almost 23,000 views in less than a two-week period.
“Pray” is a beautiful piano-driven Christian ballad that consists of deep and moving lyrics. It has an inspirational message to it and it is destined to target the hearts of their listeners. It garners two thumbs up. With his powerful vocals, Hammitt knocks it out of the ball park.
