Pop singer and winner of the first season of American Idol Kelly Clarkson is expected to release her first Christmas album, “Wrapped in Red.”
The CD will be available on October 29 and it will be released via her label, RCA Records. The project was produced by Greg Kurstin and it will include holiday classics as well as five original songs, several of which were co-written by Clarkson, including the lead single “Underneath The Tree” and the title cut.
The Christmas classics on this record include “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” Please Come Home For Christmas (Bells Will Be Ringing),” “Blue Christmas,” “White Christmas,” “My Favorite Things” and “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” the latter of which is a duet with Ronnie Dunn.
It closes with “Silent Night,” where she collaborates with such esteemed country songstresses as Trisha Yearwood and Reba McEntire.
This is one holiday album that shouldn’t be missed, since Clarkson is one of American Idol’s most successful alums. She has earned three Grammy awards.
