Speaking in Stockholm regarding military action against Syria, a defiant President Obama told the world that it was not his credibility on the line.
The Commander in Chief of the world’s greatest free nation said, “The international community’s credibility is on the line. And America’s and Congress’s credibility is on the line.” No. Not his!
And he was telling the truth. Anyone who has lived under the rule of this authoritarian leader knows that his credibility is not on the line… because he HAS NONE!
Of course he didn’t set a "red line" for governments that use chemical and biological means to exterminate insurgents let alone the innocent women and children nor did he draw a line in the sand for purveyors of toxic weapons. Why would he? Then he might have to DO something.
But of course there is no denying he said, "As commander in chief, I always preserve the right and the responsibility to act on behalf of America’s national security. I do not believe that I was required to take this to Congress, but I did not take this to Congress just because it is an empty exercise.”
However we all know he was just trying to bluff Congress a little. Right? We just missed his old poke in the arm that said “Just kidding!”
Come on Mr. President. Stop thinking about your golf game for a minute or about riling up your BFFs Jackson and Sharpton. You took the job five years ago. Lead like a leader.
You and only you got yourself in this mess – how we say it in the South – between a rock and a hard place!
