article imageNFL Week 1 Preview: Ravens at Broncos

By Larry Seely     Sep 4, 2013 in Sports
Denver - The NFL regular season gets started on Thursday night with two AFC teams that faced each other in the divisional playoffs last season as the Baltimore Ravens hit the road to face the Denver Broncos.
Baltimore will have a very different look as the Ravens lost several key players from their defense and the top two pass catchers from last years squad. Quarterback Joe Flacco will have more responsibility in leading the offense, but with Ray Rice in the backfield and the speedy Torrey Smith at receiver, look for this squad to put a few more points on the board in 2013.
Denver will have a few changes of their own with two youngsters now battling for the starting running back job, but veteran Peyton Manning is now in his second year with the Broncos and with Wes Welker now on board, this team could lead the league in passing yardage. The suspension of Von Miller will hurt this team for the first month of the season, but this unit allowed just over 18 points per game and last season and with a solid group of returning players, many NFL experts are predicting big things from this team in the upcoming football season.
Denver is favored and with the Broncos playing at home it makes sense, but the Ravens beat them in the Mile High city last year and will look to steal some thunder and let everyone around the league know that Baltimore is still one of the top teams in football.
