Hugh Jackman is set for a double celebration for his acting,
Broadway World reports. He will first receive the
Donostia award for lifetime achievement at the San Sebastian Film Festival in northern Spain on 27 September. The 44 year-old actor will then travel to Switzerland to accept the Golden Icon award at the
Zurich Film Festival.
Both events are screening his new drama
Prisoners, which has its world premiere next week at the Toronto International Film Festival. The plot for the new movie is summarized by
IMDB as: "When Keller Dover's daughter and her friend go missing, he takes matters into his own hands as the police pursue multiple leads and the pressure mounts. But just how far will this desperate father go to protect his family?"
The movie is directed by Denis Villeneuve and co-stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Viola Davis. In relation to one of the festival, Zurich Film Festival Director Karl Spoerri told the
Global Post that: "Hugh Jackman is in a class by himself as a multi-talented entertainer with a global following. There is nothing he can't do and he proves this time and time again with every project he's involved in. We're honored to recognize his brilliant career at the Zurich Film Festival."
