Niagara Falls - Niagara Falls has been wowing visitors for hundreds of years and it doesn't look like it will be slowing down any time soon. One-and-a-half hours from 12 million people in Greater Toronto may keep it busy, but it remains a very reasonable getaway.
Niagara Falls has been written about by famous people, walked across on tight ropes, ridden over in barrels, royalty has visited many times and it never ceases to wow and create wonder. Come for a day or a week, there are so many reasons to see it.

According to Niagara Parks, in 1842, Charles Dickens wrote of the scene,
When we were seated in the little ferry-boat, and were crossing the swollen river immediately before both cataracts, I began to feel what it was: but I was in a manner stunned, and unable to comprehend the vastness of the scene. It was not until I came on Table Rock, and looked — Great Heaven, on what a fall of bright-green water! — that it came upon me in its full might and majesty." American Notes, 1842

Mark Twain is also quoted on the Niagara Parks site from 1903, and these quotes are just as relevant today. NIAGARA FALLS is a most enjoyable place of resort. The hotels are excellent, and the prices not at all exorbitant. You can read the full quotes on the Niagara Parks link.

As the self-titled honeymoon capital of the world, Niagara Falls has been attracting famous and non famous honeymooners since at least 1802 when the first official honeymooners were recorded. Niagara Falls, Ontario, actually gives out an official Honeymoon Certificate signed by the mayor to take back home. It also gives you discounts on many of the attractions while you visit.

If you're looking for adventure a trip on the Maid of the Mist up to the base of the falls may be in order. It's highly possible you too will ride right through the base of a rainbow while you take your tour to the base of the falls.

When you are all done with your day gazing at the falls take a romantic walk through some of the beautiful Niagara Parks. You'll find gardens like this rose garden or the Butterfly Conservatory, all tended to by the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture where students get hands on training and experience maintaining and planting the beautiful parks.

Don' t miss the floral clock or the Skylon tower either. They say the floral clock is photographed as often as the falls. The falls are lit in colours at night and several summer nights there is free fireworks and concerts.
There is never ending fun at the falls. You can stay in luxury hotels, stay at the casino, find a great indoor water park hotel or camp at great KOA with the family. Find more information and something for everyone in the listed attractions on the Niagara Parks website or at Tourism Niagara, but don't forget, the main attraction, viewing the falls, is always free.
