On August 20, rising country songstress Lisa Matassa is expected to sing the national anthem for one of her favorite hometown Major League Baseball teams, the New York Mets, where they will be facing the Atlanta Braves.
This game will take place at the Citi Field stadium in Flushing, New York, which is not too far from Lisa’s Long Island home.
According to Lisa Matassa, she exclaimed in a press statement, “It’s very exciting to have a chance to sing our country’s national anthem before a ‘hometown’ crowd. I absolutely cannot wait.”
Her latest single “I Won’t Ask” is making its up the Music Row charts and it was added to AOL’s Radio “New Country First,” Slacker Radio’s “Ladies of Country,” as well as’s “Big Country,” among other radio stations.
The Long Island songstress co-wrote the tune with her guitarist Colin Smith, as well as Tony Bruno.
This year, Lisa made her debut at the hallowed Ryman Auditorium during the 2013 CMA Music Festival and she made her national television debut on Hallmark Channel’s “Marie” show, which is hosted by Marie Osmond.
Her previous single “Somebody’s Baby” became a Top 40 hit for her on both the Billboard Indicator charts, as well as the Music Row charts, and its music video has garnered well over four million YouTube views.
