On August 16, the “Queen of Pop” Madonna celebrated her 55th birthday. According to the Daily Mail, the pop songstress had a birthday bash in France, where she dressed up in a Marie Antoinette costume.
To celebrate her birthday, Billboard compiled a list of 40 of her most successful singles on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts, which included such songs as “Like a Virgin,” “Frozen,” “Holiday” and “Live to Tell,” among many others.
According to the same Billboard article, Madonna has had more Top 10 hits than any other artist in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 charts, with an astonishing 38 Top 10 singles.
This year Madonna was honored at the Billboard Music Awards for being its “Top Touring Act of 2013” thanks to the success of her “MDNA Tour.”
The global pop superstar took time to thank her fans via her Facebook page. “The best way to celebrate my birthday and life in general is to be grateful. I have nothing but appreciation for all of my fans who have supported me through out the years. I feel your love and it inspires me. It keeps me going. Thank you for fighting the revolution of love with me,” Madonna shared via a Facebook post.
Several of the artists that she has influenced took the time to wish the “Material Girl” a happy birthday via Twitter.
“Happy birthday Madonna! All hail the O.G. Queen of Pop. All stems back to you,” Adam Lambert tweeted to his followers.
Britney Spears tweeted to her fans, “Happy Birthday M! Hope you’re a happy girl. Singing you your birthday song.”
