article imageJustin Bieber duets with Michael Jackson in 'Slave 2 the Rhythm'

A single from the Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber in which he duets with the late Michael Jackson is out on the internet. 'Slave 2 the Rhythm' is a Jackson song never formally released and it is unclear if it was intentionally released at this time.
The song was written by Jackson and the Bieber version maintains all MJ's lyrics and much of his singing but Bieber now sings some verses and he duets with Jackson on choruses. There is also a more jumped-up bounce to the Bieber/Jackson version, more of a pounding rhythm and additional instrumentation has been added.
The original Jackson-only version of 'Slave 2 the Rhythm' (not to be confused with a Grace Jones song from the 80's called 'Slave to the Rhythm') also appeared on the internet, doing so in the months after Jackson's untimely death on June 25 of 2009. It's unclear when Bieber was given permission by the Jackson estate to record along with Jackson.
A tweet from Bieber on Friday alluded to Michael Jackson: “Excited for what is to come. MJ set the bar. Not only for music but for being an entertainer and how u treat the fans. Wish he was here,” he tweeted.
Some reports suggest that Bieber, who has always maintained that Michael Jackson is his biggest musical influence, is interested in buying Jackson's estate, 'Neverland.'
