New York - On August 16, Capitol Nashville recording artist and reigning Academy of Country Music (ACM) “Entertainer of the Year” Luke Bryan performed on “The Today Show” for a great turnout at Rockefeller Plaza.
The country heartthrob sang four songs for his New York audience, which included the lead-off single and title cut “Crash My Party,” the second single “That’s My Kind of Night,” as well as hits from prior albums such as “Country Girl (Shake It For Me)” and “Drunk on You.”
“‘The Today Show’ what’s going on?” he asked. “Ya’ll sing with me,” he added, prior to singing his catchy “Crash My Party.”
“Are we having a party yet New York?” Luke asked midway through his performance.
“Thank you so much,” he said following the loud applause he received.
“Where are my country girls out there in New York City this morning?” Luke asked. “We are going to get you shaking in the A.M.,” he said, and immediately broke into “Country Girl (Shake It For Me).”
“We’re going to make some speakers go ‘boom boom.’ Here we go,” Luke said, prior to singing yet another catching tune “Drunk On You.” He backed him on acoustic guitar
“I’m all drunk on New York City this Friday morning,” he stated. “Thank you so much for being here. We love you.”
The Verdict
Overall, Luke Bryan did a great job putting on a high-energy concert at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, despite the early wake-up call. He showcased his humble personality and he interacted quite well with his fans, thus giving them the impression that he was in their backyards performing for them.
