article imagePolice catch up with Spain's fake 'James Bond'

By Anne Sewell     Aug 15, 2013 in Crime
Valencia - It seems the James Bond movies are being taken to heart by some, as a Valencia man posed as a secret agent, recruiting female "trainees" in return for money, jewellery and sexual favors.
The 56-year-old fake Bond showed his potential female "trainees" actual military footage and a fascinating array of firearms and electronic gadgets to convince them he was on the up-and-up.
Once the women's trust had been gained, he then trained them, allegedly for operative positions, but mainly into supplying him with as much gold as possible and, of course, performing sexual acts.
The fake under-cover cop also ensured that his trainees took a “top secret” approach to guarantee they didn’t speak up about the controversial training. As he was offering them a €1,900 monthly salary if they passed the grade, they naturally complied.

Spain's Civil Guard
Investigations began in July, when police officers were advised of the existence of a man, posing as a secret agent.
News agency EFE reported on Wednesday that Civil Guard officers had arrested the man and a 45-year-old woman who was acting as his aide.
They have both been charged with fraud, attempted sexual assault, blackmail and, most importantly, impersonating a police officer.
A search of the man's home revealed five guns, three simulated firearms, photographs, logos and military uniforms, along with telecommunications material and the false identify document shown on the right.
So far 11 victims of the fraud have been identified in various localities of Valencia and Alicante.
