On August 13, reigning Academy of Country Music (ACM) “Entertainer of the Year” Luke Bryan released his latest studio album “Crash My Party,” via his record label, Capitol Nashville.
It was produced by veteran songwriter and producer Jeff Stevens. A Georgia native and an acclaimed country singer-songwriter, Luke co-wrote two tracks on the CD which include “I See You” and “Dirt Road Diary.”
It consists of a strong opener “That’s My Kind of Night” and it is followed by “Beer in the Headlights,” which is yet another song that will drive his female listeners crazy.
“Crash My Party” is the lead-off, chart-topping single and title cut which is a wonderful mid-tempo tune, where the male narrator showcases his unconditional love to his special woman in his life.
Luke’s vocals are soothing on such tunes as “Roller Coaster” and “We Run This Town.”
“Drink a Beer” is very mellow and has a laid-back vibe to it, whereas his co-penned “I See You” is fun and upbeat.
“Goodbye Girl” is a slow-moving ballad and “Play It Again” has an addicting chorus to it.
“Blood Brothers” would be a perfect theme song for such television series as “Band of Brothers.” “Out Like That” has really strong melodies and “Shut It Down” is vivid and extremely well-written.
It closes with the autobiographical ballad “Dirt Road Diary,” a poignant and a personal vocal, which happens to be my favorite tune on the entire collection.
Overall, Luke Bryan does a solid job on his “Crash My Party” album and it is definitely a keeper. He is an artist where his leading-man looks can grasp the attention of his female fans and his vocals can sustain the attention. He is also a musician that his male country fans would want as their best friend. This is one of his best albums to date and it deserves to reach the top of the Billboard Hot Country Album charts.
