Review: Lady Gaga is back with catchy new radio single 'Applause' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Aug 13, 2013 in Entertainment
On August 12, pop music mega-star Lady Gaga released her newest radio single “Applause,” via her label Interscope Records, one week early due to an online leak.
She co-wrote the song with Paul Blair, who is better known by his stage name DJ White Shadow.
The beat of “Applause” is extremely catchy and the lyrics are extremely clever. As a song, it is reminiscent of a quintessential Madonna tune that may be found on her latest studio album “MDNA,” but Gaga’s music is far more radio-friendly and relatable than the singles put out by the “Material Girl” herself.
With the help of her faithful fans, which are affectionately dubbed as “Little Monsters,” the song’s audio video on her YouTube channel has already garnered over 2 million views in one day, which is quite an impressive feature.
The Verdict
In summation, “Mother Monster” certainly deserves a round of ‘applause’ for her new single “Applause.” It is an electro-pop music masterpiece and her new song stands out by a mile on the mainstream radio airwaves. It is bold and instantly recognizable. It deserves big two thumbs up.
Just when I thought that Katy Perry had the best female summer single of 2013 with “Roar,” Lady Gaga proves me wrong again.
