The full title of the seminar is Mechanochemistry: From Functional Solids to Single Molecules. It is Faraday Discussion 170, and is strictly for experts in the field. Full details can be found on the RSC website but it will take place from May 21-3, 2014.
There is also a Facebook page. The date for oral abstract submissions has already passed, but registration does not end until April 21.
There are many videos on the subject of mechanochemistry on Youtube, but again this is not a subject for amateurs. Mechanochemistry is a broad field but it is related to nanotechnology, which is one of the most revolutionary new fields of science and technology, involving engineering at the molecular scale. Currently there are 443 titles in the British Library's catalogue related to mechanochemistry covering everything from crystalline solids to immunology. Here is a short video that demonstrates its practical applications in developing sustainable products.
