A successful exhibit on the career of
David Bowie, singer, songer-writer, actor and arranger, is currently on a world tour of its own, with only one scheduled venue in the United States. "David Bowie is..." coming to the
Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago next year.
The exhibit, "
David Bowie is..." is currently at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London until Sunday. The exhibition was curated at the V&A, and the museum has recently been staying open as late as 10pm to meet the high-demand in attendance that David Bowie's tribute has drawn. The reported attendance has been about 300,000 visitors.
"David Bowie is" is the first international retrospective of the musician's five-decade career. It includes more than 300 items, including handwritten lyrics, original costumes, album artwork, set designs and performance materials.
After Sunday, "David Bowie is" will go to the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto and the Museum of Image and Sound in Sao Paulo. Afterwards, the exhibit will make it's only US appearance, when it comes to Chicago from September 2014 to January 2015, before heading to Paris and the Netherlands.
