article imageNBA News: Michael Beasley Arrested

By Larry Seely     Aug 6, 2013 in Sports
Phoenix - Just when you think a young athlete is finally getting his life in order, things go wrong again and that's the case with Phoenix Suns forward Michael Beasley, who was arrested on possession of marijuana Tuesday morning.
Beasley entered the NBA with a shaky background and despite numerous chances to get his life in order, the 24 year-old continues to disappoint the league, its fans, and his family with off court issues.
Lauren Peikoff of 12 News in Phoenix broke the story, the latest involving athletes and drugs. Beasley was in a rehab clinic four years ago when he played for Miami. After a trade to Minnesota, the youngster was ticketed two years ago for speeding and possession while playing for the Timberwolves.
Sports Illustrated has reported that Beasley has been involved in two other incidents this year, with the Phoenix Suns handing down no punishment, but this latest offense could be taken over by the league.
The NBA is trying to clean up the drugs in the sport and it wouldn't be a major surprise to see Beasley miss most or all of the upcoming season through suspension by the league. This latest incident just proves the young man needs to worry about other things in his life other than playing basketball.
