article imageCricket: Sri Lanka v South Africa live 3rd T20I

By Zed Dav     Aug 5, 2013 in Sports
Hambantota - The third and the final T20I between Sri Lanka and South Africa will be played at Hambantota and will give the hosts a chance to pull one back.
With South Africa having already won the T20I series against Sri Lanka, it will be an interesting third T20I that will be played on Tuesday at Hambantota.
South Africa lead the series 2-0 but that does not mean they will want to take their foot off the accelerator. There are two very simple reasons - one, they would love to return home with a whitewashed series win but more vitally they lost the ODIs 4-1 and a 3-0 result here will reduce the grief a little.
Sri Lanka will be wondering what hit them. Till before this series, they hadn't lost a single game this year and were the number one ranked side in the world but they have played abysmally.
In the first T20I, the bowlers did a good job in restricting South Africa to a paltry 115/6 in their 20 overs but the batsmen completely messed it up by being bowled out for 103.
Then, in the second match, strong finishing by David Miller ensured they would get to 145 before restricting the hosts to 123.
Batting continues to remain troublesome for Sri Lanka, especially in games where the seniors do not do a good job. Kumar Sangakkara has been in form but it's time others come to the party against the improving South Africans.
It's also imperative that captain Dinesh Chandimal tries to change things around with their bowling - only five bowlers were used in the previous game.
The third South Africa v Sri Lanka match begins at 7 pm local time (or 1330 hours GMT) on Tuesday.
