Herndon - The annual 4-H Fair & Carnival at Northern Virginia's Frying Pan Farm Park just wrapped up its 65th year. This year's 4-day event was filled with family fun and lots of activities.
It's August and that means it is time for the 4-H Fair & Carnival at Frying Pan Farm Park in Fairfax, Va. An annual event, now in its 65th year, this past weekend's warm and sunny weather brought lots of families out to the farm to check out the festivities.
Highlighted this year were 4-H exhibits, animal shows, carnival rides, food, and live entertainment. Other fun activities for the little ones included tractor rides, kids' crafts and seeing the different types of livestock. There was even a technology and robotics tent, along with several other exhibits.
Kicking off on Thursday, visitors could enjoy the carnival rides and a live concert in the evening. Friday's list of events included more carnival fun, a crafts, produce and baked goods contest, and 'Big Truck Night'.
On Saturday and Sunday the fair was in full swing with all activities scheduled. These included the carnival games and rides, 4-H exhibits, animal shows, livestock showings and several performances on the fair's stage. Saturday night also featured an antique tractor pull.
In addition to the events and carnival festivities, the Kidwell Farm was also open to visitors.
A fun day for all!
