By Markos Papadatos     Aug 4, 2013 in Entertainment
Pop boy band Midnight Red released their newest single “Take Me Home” on July 16 on iTunes. The tune can be heard throughout the summer in movie theaters across America since it’s the theme song to the iHeartRadio Coca-Cola summer campaign.
Midnight Red is produced by music executive and multi-Grammy-winning producer RedOne and they are signed to a joint venture with 2101 record label, as well as the Capitol Music Group. They are 2101’s second signing since announcing the partnership earlier in the year.
The pop group is made up of Joey Diggs Jr. and Eric Secharia, both of which are from California, as well as Seattle-born Anthony Ladao, Colton Rudloff from Buffalo, New York, and Texas’ Thomas Augusto.
Throughout their career, they have opened for such musical acts as the Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block. Their digital single “Hell Yeah” coupled with their cover version of Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” have sold over five million digital downloads worldwide.
The Verdict
“Take Me Home” is definitely a keeper. It is infectious and has a pop-electro vibe to it that makes it a great deal of fun. All five guys soar on harmonies and similar to their breakthrough single “Hell Yeah,” the new single’s beat is similar to that of Chris Brown’s “Forever,” which should be perceived as a big compliment.
It garners an “A” rating and is the quintessential song to listen to during the summer and they show their audiences how to have a good time. Fans of One Direction, The Wanted and Chris Brown ought to check out Midnight Red’s music and request this song to all mainstream radio stations, since they possess the talent and charisma to become the next pop music phenom.
