By Larry Seely     Aug 3, 2013 in Sports
Edmonton - Hamilton opened up a 17-6 half-time lead over Edmonton and held on for a 30-29 victory after Eskimos kicker Grant Shaw missed a 50 yard field goal as time expired in Friday nights CFL action.
Tiger-Cats quarterback Henry Burris guided his team to the victory with a terrific performance. The veteran quarterback completed 20-26 passes for 293 yards and two touchdowns.
With the win, Hamilton improved to 2-4 on the year and the Tiger-Cats finally had the offensive output to help a struggling defense and the team needed every point in the end.
Mike Reilly and the Edmonton offense started slow, but the 28 year-old signal caller came on strong in the second half as he completed 21-32 throws for 311 yards and a score. The loss was the fourth straight for the Eskimos and they dropped to 1-5 for the 2013 CFL season.
The big difference in the football game was Hamilton's ability to run the football. The Tiger-Cats finished the night with over 150 yards on the ground, more than twice the yardage Edmonton was able to produce for the game.
