article imageReview: Easton Corbin brings traditional country to Jones Beach, New York Special

Wantagh - On July 21, country singer Easton Corbin performed at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, New York, where he opened for country superstar Blake Shelton as part of his “Ten Times Crazier” tour.
He shared the stage with country songstress Jana Kramer and he was backed by a gifted six-piece band.
“How ya’ll doing New York?” Easton asked the New York crowd. “Give it up one more time for the beautiful Jana Kramer.”
His setlist included “Lovin’ You is Fun,” as well as soaring covers of Gary Allan’s “Watching Airplanes” and Alan Jackson’s “Where I Come From.”
“Hope you are having a good time out here,” Easton said. “Let me see those hands up here.”
Easton’s rendition of his first chat-topping single “A Little More Country Than That” was a crowd favorite.
Equally noteworthy vocals were his current single “All Over the Road,” a cover of Brooks & Dunn’s “Brand New Man” and the heartfelt ballad “I Can’t Love You Back.”
Following the warm reception of “I Can’t Love You Back,” Easton exclaimed to his fans, “Thank you so much. We do love you.”
My personal favorite cover was his version of the upbeat “If You’re Gonna Play in Texas,” which showcased his rich, pure country vocals and a stunning fiddle solo.
He closed his show with his second No. 1 single “Roll With It.”
The Verdict
Overall, Easton Corbin did a superb job opening for Blake Shelton at Jones Beach in Long Island. This marked my second time seeing him perform at this venue (he previously opened for The Band Perry and Brad Paisley at last year's show), but this was his best concert yet, since it showcased his growth and maturity as an artist and he played a longer set.
Easton proved that he is one of the best neotraditionalist vocalists in the country genre along with Joe Nichols and Jamey Johnson. In fact, Blake Shelton, Jana Kramer and Easton Corbin were all incredible and they are worth seeing live on the “Ten Times Crazier” tour.
