New York - Hit country trio The Band Perry will be performing on NBC’s “The Today Show” on August 2 as part of the 2013 “Toyota Concert Series” in New York City. I chatted with The Band Perry via telephone about their upcoming live performance.
This year’s performers included such musical acts as Maroon 5, Hunter Hayes, Phillip Phillips, Lionel Richie, John Mayer, among others.
The country trio of musician siblings is comprised of Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry and for “The Today” show they will play music from their newest album “Pioneer.”
As of today, their album’s debut single “Better Dig Two” has peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Airplay charts and their current single “DONE.” is at No. 1 on the same charts for the week ending August 3.
According to Kimberly, she remarked, “‘The Today Show’ is such an institution and it is always fun to get up that early and play our music for the fans. What a great way to start off the day.”
“We’ve played the show before and we had a great time and we just cannot wait to come back,” Neil added.
The Band Perry is nominated for two Teen Choice Awards for Choice Break-up Song (“DONE.”) and Choice Country Group. Fans ages 13 to 19 have the chance to vote once a day via the official Teen Choice Awards page leading up to the August 11 telecast on FOX at 8 p.m. EST.
Starting this November, the group is slated to embark on their “We Are Pioneers World Tour,” where they will bring their music to their fans in Europe.
