article imageBig Brother viewer backlash before ‘Safe House’ eviction tonight

Television viewers have been venting their anger at Channel 5 over the recent “eviction twist” in the current series of the reality-TV series, Big Brother.
On Channel 5 this evening Big Brother: Live Eviction will three popular housemates up for eviction in tonight’s live broadcast.
Earlier in the week, Big Brother asked all the housemates to choose two people from among the group to move into the Safe House, on the premise that those chosen would then be immune from this week’s eviction process.
The group chose popular housemates Sam Evans and Sophie Lawrence. Then, once “safely” installed, Evans and Lawrence were asked by Big Brother to choose a third housemate. They chose Dan Neal, oblivious to the fact that they and Neal were all now up for this week’s eviction.
The Safe House twist fits in with the theme of the current series of Big Brother : “Secrets and Lies”. However, when Big Brother host Emma Willis explained the latest deception to viewers, those in the audience booed loudly, while viewers at home home took to their Twitter feeds.
As reported by Entertainmentwise, the consensus seems to be that the producers at Channel 5 and Big Brother itself have lost the plot. Just two of them saying: “i’m p****d off at big brother, sam OR sophie cannot go ok”; “Can’t explain how p****d off I am that Big Brother have put Sam and Sophie up for eviction”.
Meanwhile, Metro reports that another Big Brother fan believes the twist has been engineered so that viewers will be unable to evict an unpopular housemate, Hazel O’Sullivan, tweeting: “#bbuk stupidest thing ever. Sam and Sophie are the best two. It is like big brother is doing everything they can to stop hazel being evicted.”
Throughout the current series of Big Brother, produced by Endemol for Channel 5, Evans, Lawrence and Neal have scored have scored high on the favourites to win. As reported in June by Digital Journal, Evans, 22, from Llanelli in Wales, emerged as the early favourite to win Big Brother, but was subsequently replaced by Neal.
However, according to omg!, Neal is now the bookies’ favourite to be evicted from the show, with Lawrence a close second. Elsewhere, a recent online BB poll – conducted by Telly Mix – concurs: out of the three Safe House eviction nominees, Neal emerges as the person most people want evicted, with 41 per cent of the vote. Second, with 32 per cent, has Lawrence, while only 27 per cent have opted for Evans to go.
This evening, it will be down to the viewing public to vote on which one of the three will actually be the latest housemate to be evicted from the Big Brother house.
Willis will announce the identity of the latest evictee on tonight’s Big Brother: Live Eviction, which starts at 9 p.m. on Channel 5 this evening. Big Brother’s Bit on the Side follows on immediately, at 10.30 p.m., where Ryan Clark and A J Odudu will discuss the eviction with a studio audience an guests. Live streaming from the Big Brother house rounds off the evening, at 11.30 p.m., in Big Brother: Live from the House.
