"Hey @eddielack I'm warning you now! Don't get any ideas this upcoming season!!! Got it???" Luongo tweeted
Lack on Thursday.
Lack, expected to be challenged by fellow Swede
Joacim Eriksson for the back-up role, had a comeback for Luongo; after a tweet asking if Bobby Lou preferred water or Gatorade he tweeted
a second time: "Oh and @strombone1, I've been practicing at home to be at fast as my idol!" That tweet included a photo of toilet, a reference to a 2007 playoff game in Anaheim when Luongo missed the opening of overtime due to a rush to the loo.
The exchange gives credence to Canucks GM Mike Gillis' assertion that his visit to Luongo in Florida was positive and that his new/old number 1 goalie is ready to return to Vancouver. That hasn't always been a given since the Cory Schneider trade; at that time the normally voluble Luongo shut down on twitter for about two weeks.
This last tweet is one of several, however, over the past 10 days that suggest he's becoming comfortable with his return, including the tongue-in-cheek tweet of July 19: "When does the schedule for the KHL get released??? I kid I kid......."
