article imageWatch news reporter accidentally draw giant penis on live TV

During a live newscast on ABC12, reporter Siobhan Riley was using an onscreen map to show viewers how ongoing construction work in the central districts of Saginaw, Mich. might affect their day when she drew a giant penis smack in the middle of the map.
Freudian psychoanalytic theory is so often mocked and reviled by experimental psychologists these days, yet we keep running into evidence from poor live TV reporters that the subconscious is one huge cesspit of repressed prurient preoccupations.
Sigmund Freud might theorize that somehow the confluence of thoughts about "Men at Work" and other repressed interests got her subconscious working artistically to create a perfect phallic shape.
It's so rare for this sort of thing to happen that surely there must be a "scientific" explanation. She couldn't have done better had she set out deliberately to do it.
Similar gaffes in recent times reveal the risks of live TV.
Recently, CNN international host Jonathan Mann spoke about humans hunting "dildos into extinction" when he meant to say "dodos."
He said: "I guess we hunted the dildo into extinction, Um, but, the dodo, rather, forgive me, I’m having trouble with my words today."
Neither Riley nor ABC12 have commented on the incident, but of course, it has gone viral online.
