Almere - Dramatic video footage shows the moment that a hot air balloon carrying 11 people crashes into a lake near Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Two people were injured.
The incident happened at a lake in the town of Almere, 21 miles east of Amsterdam in the central Flevoland province.
Amateur footage captures the balloon descending down towards the water. The basket of the balloon then hits the water and floats towards the shore.
Eventually the balloon can be seen spreading out over the road, blocking oncoming traffic.
Two lifeboats were sent to Almere by the Coast Guard, but were not needed, as people managed to make their own way out of the water.
There were 11 passengers in the hot air balloon at the time, and two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Police and aviation inspection authorities have started an investigation into the accident as the cause is still unknown.
