Birmingham - The brutal stabbing and murder of a Muslim pensioner back in April, is now being investigated as part of a wider investigation that also involved 3 recent bomb attacks against mosques in the midlands.
Mohammed Saleem, 75, was stabbed to death as he walked home after local prayers in Birmingham.
Police now believe the attack on Saleem may also be connected to a spate of bomb attacks to have been carried out at Muslim places of worship over the past month.
At least two suspects from eastern Europe have been detained on terrorism related charges for the attacks, with one of the men also now being arrested in connection to the stabbing attack on Saleem.
Assistant chief constable Marcus Beale who leads the investigation gave the following statement concerning the arrest in connect to Salim's murder:
