London - The British Libertarian David Botsford has died at the young age of 49. Although not a big name in the movement, he made a substantial contribution.
David Botsford died earlier this month but news of his death has just been leaked by fellow Libertarian Kevin McFarlane and to the wider world by Sean Gabb. I spoke to Sean this afternoon and he said David died at his mother's home in London, apparently from a heart attack.
Like Sean I didn't know him that well, and neither of us has seen him for some time, but he was the sort of person you don't forget easily.
Although he had an independent professional life, David Botsford will be remembered as a Libertarian. He published a number of short papers for the Libertarian Alliance, but his most outstanding work is a series of fairly lengthy videos under the generic title Voices Of Liberty, from 1991. They have now most or all of them been uploaded to YouTube by Sean Gabb.
