Chef and television presenter Nigella Lawson will bring a version of her hit U.S. cookery show, The Taste, to the U.K. This news follows on from Lawson's well publicized split from her husband Charles Saatchi.
Despite her significant success on television and her career as an independent businesswoman, Nigella Lawson was was photographed being physically abusing by her husband Charles Saatchi at a restaurant dining table recently (as covered on the Digital Journal).
Moving on from the fall-out and well-publicized split from her husband, Lawson is involved with a positive news story. She will be bringing her U.S. show The Taste to Channel 4 in 2014 as a 10-part series (according to the Daily Mail).
The premise of the show, broadcast on ABC, is that contestants — a mix of professional and amateur cooking enthusiasts — try to avoid elimination by competing in group and individual challenges each week. The show will feature chef Anthony Bourdain and French kitchen guru Ludo Lefebvre, who both feature as mentors and judges with Lawson in the U.S. series.
Nigella Lawson is a British food writer, journalist and broadcaster. In 1998 she brought out her first cook book, How to Eat, which proved to be a best seller. This led to a move into broadcasting in 1999 with the show Nigella Bites. From this, she has built up a successful writing and broadcasting career in food despite no formal training in cookery.
