Troubled life gets Lindsay Lohan a $2 million Oprah Winfrey gig

By Marcus Hondro     Jul 17, 2013 in Entertainment
There's nothing like the reaping of rewards for getting into trouble, or so actor and bad-girl Lindsay Lohan might say. Lohan has signed to do an eight-part documentary series with Oprah Winfrey's OWN network for a not-at-all-troubling $2 million.
This news comes courtesy TMZ and is being picked up by media all over the internet. At the moment Lohan is in the midst of her latest rehab stint, this one for 90 days and forced on her to avoid a jail sentence for a June 2012 incident in which she was found guilty of reckless driving, lying to police and obstructing officers.
Oprah's OWN hasn't released how the shooting will go and how much of a role Winfrey herself will play. With plans to make it an eight-part series detailing Lohan's struggles, career and plans for the future it likely will be as much reality show as documentary series.
She started her court-ordered rehab at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, Calif. and reportedly signed the deal for the OWN series while there. She did not like the Betty Ford and her request to transfer to the Cliffside Clinic in Malibu was given in mid-June.
She's due to come out of Cliffside in early August and should she leave before her 90 days are up she will be jailed. Friends have told media that rehab has urged her to stay at least another 30 days past the 90 days ordered by the court, but she has declined.
As well as the $2 million, Lohan will also be given two assistants and a personal stylist for the duration of the series. No date on when shooting will commence.
