Toronto - The Saskatchewan Roughriders remained the only team in the CFL with a perfect record after a 39-28 victory over Toronto on Thursday night. The win improved the team to 3-0 on the season and the top spot in the West Division.
Quarterback Darian Durant had a solid contest as he completed 14-19 passes for 245 yards and three scores, but running back Kory Sheets stole the show with 178 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
Sheets now has over 100 yards rushing in every game this season and the potent offense in Saskatchewan has scored an average of 38 points per game, also tops in the league.
Toronto held the lead 11-7 after the first quarter, but the Argonauts had a tough go, scoring just three points over the next 30+ minutes of action.
Argo's quarterback Ricky Ray had a solid performance with 334 yards and two touchdown passes on the evening, but the defense couldn't slow down the high octane attack of the Roughriders and Toronto fell to 1-2 on the year.
Saskatchewan returns back home next week and will look to keep their undefeated record in place when the host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Sunday night.
Toronto will look to rebound, but have a short week of preparation as they hit the road to face Winnipeg on Friday.
