article imageInterview with country singer Stephanie Quayle Special

By Markos Papadatos     Jul 11, 2013 in Entertainment
On July 11, I chatted in person with country singer-songwriter Stephanie Quayle about her new studio album “Stand Back.”
Throughout her tenure in “Music City,” she has performed on such platforms as the Sundance Film Festival, Bluebird Café, US Navy’s Fleet Week, as well as at Shriver’s National Women’s Conference, where she was personally invited by Maria Shriver; moreover, she has well over 35,000 fans on her social networks (Facebook and Twitter) and she played for a sold-out crowd at this year’s CMA Music Fest. “I am a big social media person so I love staying connected with them in that fashion,” she stated.
She grew up on a farm in Montana listening to Reba McEntire and such rock and roll artists as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, as well as Ann and Nancy Wilson from Heart. “Wouldn’t it be cool to do a country version of ‘Magic Man,’” Stephanie said with a laugh.
Stephanie released her newest single “Stand Back” to iTunes in June of 2013 and it is expected to impact the radio airwaves in mid-August. She co-penned the tune and the Montana songstress noted that is about “female empowerment.”
She co-wrote all six songs on her EP “Stand Back,” which will be released on August 6 and Dale Libby served as her producer. “I have been writing songs for a really long time. This EP was really about pulling out vulnerability and revealing to the listener a lot of my own truths,” she said. “I had a wonderful team of people that came together to really take it to another level.”
Her personal favorite song on the album is “Rollercoaster” since she is “speaking about two other people” and she noted that she desires “a rollercoaster” lifestyle as opposed to a “merry go round” one.
Regarding Stephanie’s future plans, she shared, “We are having an EP release party and then we are heading to mainstream radio and I am very excited to be a part of that. Then, I will be touring as much as I can and playing everywhere.”
