By Sami Zaatari     Jul 7, 2013 in World
An Israeli F-16 fighter jet has crashed into the Mediterranean Sea, with both it's pilots unhurt, after safely ejecting out of the jet before the crash.
The cause of the crash is not thought to be linked to an act of violence, but down to a malfunction of the jet, causing it's accident.
The specific model of the F-16 that crashed was the F-16I, the latest and advanced version of the F-16 jet.
According to the Israeli airforce, the F-16 was on a regular training routine when it crashed. The Israeli airforce has grounded all other training flights and has opened an official investigation into the crash.
In other related Israeli military affairs, the Israeli government passed a draft bill that would end military draft exemptions for the nation's ultra-Orthodox Jewish community.
The bill has long been opposed by the Orthodox community, who serve religious duties in place of military deployment, Orthodox Jews view the bill as an infringement of their religious belief and practice.
