article imageOp-Ed: Gay marriage will override American religious liberty

By Eliot Elwar     Jul 5, 2013 in World
The discussion about acceptance of gay marriage will evolve into intolerance and rejection of Christians who hold a traditional marriage view. This could split the U.S. violently as Christian conservatives stand up for their religious liberties.
The Hard Left’s next major offensive in their cultural war against conservative Christians will include employing the government to force Christians to embrace their pagan definition of marriage, while deceptively invoking false analogies to African American civil rights, according to the Washington Examiner.
Today the liberal establishment is preaching hatred against conservative Christians because many conservatives reject the absurdity that being gay is the same as being black. No reputable scientists or scientific organization has declared the existence of a homosexual gene causing people to be born gay, but the Hard Left continue to spread this propaganda as if there existed solid scientific data to support this myth. Even if there was real scientific data to support this belief, comparing homosexuals to black African Americans would still be deception woven in a complete misunderstanding of African American history.
The legalization of homosexual marriage will lead to the decriminalization of other forms of marital unions currently outside of the U.S. mainstream. Because homosexuals are now able to marry, this means that polygamous (same-sex) or poly-amorous (many mixed-sex partners) unions will eventually become legal in the US because there is no longer a legal justification for denying these persons marriage equality.
Gay rights advocates have long attempted to distance themselves from polygamists because they want to undermine social conservative arguments against same-sex unions, but the recent Supreme Court decision makes their arguments hollow because more people realize the ramifications of redefining marriage and the traditional family. While hating homosexuals have always been wrong, the Supreme Court should never have surrendered to the demands of the LGBT community because this means disaster for conservative Christian religious liberty in America.
