Nigerian German artist Ade Bantu is promoting alternative music in Nigeria's commercial city of Lagos through a monthly live musical show he calls the Afropolitan Vibes.
In its fourth edition, Afropolitan Vibes brings established musical talents who perform live along with members of Bantu in a free and open air event.
"We get like minded artistes on stage with us to share one energy, put our ego aside and entertain people, " Ade Bantu tells Digital Journal backstage.
Yinka Davies, Jimi Solanke, Beautiful Nubia, Alabi Savage from Ghana, and Siji from New York have all graced past editions, while the June editon of the event featured Seun Kuti and Ego.
"It's building and it's just a wonderful experience," Ade Bantu says. ''So far we have had incredible feedback and it's building from show to show."

The Nigerian German artiste says the monthly event allows people to appreciate what live music is all about. He explains: "It's all about the fun behind it, the show man ship and the craftsmanship behind good music."
Ade Bantu and his band also used the day to celebrate Fatai Rolling Dollar, Nigeria's ageless music legend who recently passed on at age 85.
German based Co-Founder of Bantu Abiodun was one of those who joined other members of the Bantu music collective to thrill music lovers at the Afropolitcan Vibes. "We have so much potentials here, but we have to get our acts together as well," he says in an interview laced within the audio slide show below:
