Atlanta - According to Atlanta a police, a man was shot and killed Saturday after trying to rob customers lined up for a pair of LeBron James' Nike Lebron X denim colorway sneakers outside Wish Clothing in Atlanta.
The man was trying to rob people waiting in line when another man waiting in line pulled out a gun and shot him, Deadspin reports. After being shot, the man "ran a few yards, collapsed, then collapsed and died."
Witnesses told Channel 2 Action News the shooting victim had been pickpocketing people all week long.
Customer Taylor White said he was "trying to pickpocket everybody. But people out here weren't going for none of that."
White told Channel 2's Amanda Cook the suspect should have "thought twice" before approaching the customers.
"I didn't even expect him to come up here, thinking it's that sweet; Thinking it's that candyland like that," White said.
He commended the customer for shooting the pickpocketer for "standing up for all of us."
The man who shot him is said to have a license to carry a gun, Bleacher Report reports.
In a bizarre occurrence, the shooter returned to the line after shooting the pickpocketing suspect to wait for his new shoes.
The new shoes were released on Saturday at noon.
People had been in waiting in line for days to get a pair of shoes.
LeBron James and the Miami Heat beat the San Antonio Spurs to win the NBA Championship Thursday evening. The team has now won back to back titles.
