Mobile - Meet the Prancing Elites, Alabama's all-male cheerleading team. Watch the guys from Mobile, Alabama dance, and marvel at their commitment to what they do with a difference.
The group is winning hearts online with their spirited dance routines. Former NBA player Shaquille O'Neal recently tweeted a video of their practice session.
According to the guys on their Facebook page, they practice their moves "day in and day out... long late night practices and even early morning practice." They also have a growing fan base on Twitter.
The team has received a lot of support and encouragement online, and of course, hate messages too, prompting a member of the team, jerelm161, to post this message to YouTube:
I'm one of the dancers in the video... This comment is for MicSean1[and all you haters out there]... it really doesn't matter what you or anyone thinks about what we do because it's a free country and we are free to do what we want!! We understand that some people (like yourself and other ignorant people) aren't going to agree or like what we do, but I want you to know that it's not going to stop us from doing what we love to do. It may be a distraction to you, but to others it's entertaining, Good day!
The Prancing Elites have got competition too—the Prison Cheerleaders from the movie Longest Yard.
