article imageSiberian summer: From 30 degrees Celsius & sun to snow in one day

By Anne Sewell     Jun 15, 2013 in World
Nadym - The residents of Nadym in Siberia had been basking in temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius for several days when they were suddenly struck by a heavy snow storm.
After days of wearing t-shirts and shorts and enjoying virtually tropical weather, the townspeople were forced to change into coats and scarves as the snow came down yet again.
Amateur video footage (above) taken in the town shows snow pouring down and quickly covering the cars, streets and parks of the town, while the residents are wrapped up and suffering from the bitter cold.
While temperatures in Siberia drop as low as -50 degrees Celsius in the long winter months throughout the region, it is rare to experience snow in June, when the area normally experiences a brief, but hot summer.
