And they will if the people behind the
Save Lewisham Hospital Campaign have anything to do with it. A leaflet handed out in the Borough advertises a Justice for Lewisham Hospital Week June 29-July 5. The campaigners are also bringing a Judicial Review which will be heard at the High Court on July 2. (Hopefully they will have more success than
Michael Stone). According to the Chairman of the Campaign, Deptford GP
Dr Louise Irvine: “We believe the decision to downgrade Lewisham Accident & Emergency and Maternity units was taken unlawfully as it does not satisfy the four tests that Jeremy Hunt himself set for any hospital reconfiguration..."
The forthcoming Judicial Review has been crowdfunded, and funds are still being raised for the fight on other fronts.
Yesterday, campaigners turned up at Farnham to take the protest into the Health Secretary's own back yard, where a good time was hard by all. Well, all by everyone except the dude in
this photograph.
