A rare photo showing Chicago's 1,451-foot Willis Tower (Sears Tower), the second-tallest skyscraper in the US, hit by a jagged bolt of lightning during a massive storm on Wednesday night is going viral online.
The storm which followed tornado warnings over the Midwest hit several cities with powerful winds and heavy downpour, hails and derecho. According to NBC News, a tornado was reported late Wednesday afternoon in Somonauk, 50 miles southwest of Chicago.
Flights into O'Hare International Airport were delayed for about 88 minutes, according to the FAA, and suburban commuter trains were stopped, NBC News reports.
