Country duo Florida Georgia Line won big at the 2013 CMT Music awards that took place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on June 5.
Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard took home the awards for “Duo Video of the Year” and “Breakthrough Video of The Year” for “Cruise.” In the latter category, they bested out music videos by such country artists as Dustin Lynch, Kip Moore, Randy Houser, Jana Kramer and Kacey Musgraves.
In their acceptance speech for the “Breakthrough Video” award, Tyler remarked, “Wow. My heart’s beating out of my chest. Thank you guys so much. We have the most amazing fans in the world. Thank you so much. We want to thank the Lord for blessing us so much. We want to thank our family, country radio and our amazing team.”
They performed their hit single “Cruise” on the CMT Music awards stage and they were joined by rapper Nelly.
Florida Georgia Line also shared their excitement on their social networks. “Wow! You all have blown us away. Love ya’ll,” they tweeted to their fans and followers. “Unreal night! All because of you guys. On Cloud 9 right now,” the duo added.
