Oprah Winfrey took her show on the road to Vero Beach, Florida and while there managed some shopping the town's strip, apparently without being bothered or even noticed. Winfrey was in the wealthy hamlet to interview singer Gloria Estefan.
“Gloria proposed to Oprah something different, instead of doing the interview at the main house in Star Island,” said Emilio Estefan, Gloria’s husband. “Gloria asked if we could do it in her favorite place in the world. Oprah loved it."
Estefan, 55, is releasing a new album in September and Winfrey's talk with her will appear at that time on the OWN Network. The energetic salsa singer's hits include 'Don't Wanna Lose You,' 'Music of My Heart' with 'N Sync and a salsa-inspired version of 'Turn the Beat Around'.
Jose Lambiet's Gossip Extra reported that the talk-show/TV executive superstar and her staff and crew numbered 80 and they all spent 3 nights at the Costa D’Este Beach Resort in Vero Beach, a hotel owned by the Estefans.
“She’ll be back one day," Emilio, who is also his wife's producer, told Lambiet. "Nobody bothered her. She went to the little shops on the main street and bought a hat. I’m not sure anybody realized.”
