Minnesota high school cheerleader charged with felony pimping

Minnetonka - A high school senior in Minnesota faces felony sex trafficking charges for allegedly pimping out one of her cheerleading teammates using an online classified site notorious for prostitution.
The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports 18-year-old Montia Marie Parker of Maple Grove has been charged with sex trafficking and prostitution promotion. The Hopkins High School senior allegedly posted an ad for sex with a 16-year-old special education student, who is also on the cheer squad, on the classified site before driving her to an apartment to have oral sex with a man for $60. Parker then allegedly took the money and deposited it in her own bank account.
The next day, Parker allegedly pretended to be the girl's mother in order to get her out of school. The accused pimp then drove her victim to a Brooklyn Park home, where she was ordered to have sex with another man. The girl refused.
"You'll be fine-- I didn't drive up here for nothing, and eventually, you'll need to have sex," Parker allegedly told the girl, prodding her to service her second client. The victim told the man that she couldn't have intercourse with him, but that she would perform oral sex on him. He refused.
After noticing a change in her daughter's behavior and the unexcused school absence, the alleged victim's mother snooped on her cell phone and found an incriminating text message exchange with Parker. She then notified Minnetonka police.
Police say Parker, who was expelled from Hopkins in March, has confessed to posting the ad, which reportedly received many responses.
"This is highly unusual not just for this school, but any other school in our jurisdiction," Minnetonka Police Chief Mark Raquet told the Star Tribune.
Two months ago, three female Canadian high school students, one of them a former class valedictorian, were arrested and charged with forcing girls as young as 13 into prostitution.
Parker has been booked into the Hennepin County Jail on a $50,000 bond. She faces up to 20 years in prison and/or a $50,000 fine if convicted.
