London - The British Foreign Secretary was mulling over whether to meet with Foreign Minister Ricardo Patiño in London during his June visit, to discuss the situation of Julian Assange. Now a date has been agreed for the meeting.
Digital Journal reported on June 2 that Ecuadorian Foreign MInister Ricardo Patiño was planning a trip to London to meet with Julian Assange and also, hopefully, with the British Foreign Secretary William Hague.
On June 3, Hague was "considering" the matter, and has now come to a decision.
Patiño will meet with Hague to discuss the future of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange on June 17.
Patiño tweeted, "On June 17, one year after Assange entered the Ecuadorean embassy in London, I will meet again with secretary William Hague in that city."

Assange remains holed up in the Ecuadorian embassy where he sought refuge in June 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden, where he is wanted for questioning in sex crime allegations which he denies.
