article imageIsrael demolishes 4 Palestinian homes in the West Bank

By Sami Zaatari     Jun 4, 2013 in World
Four Palestinian homes housing 40 people were demolished by Israeli bulldozers under the order of the Israeli Defence Forces.
The homes were located in the Jordan Valley just north of Jericho.
The demolished homes were located in Section A of the West Bank, meaning they were in areas administered under Palestinian control.
The governor of Jericho, Majid al-Feytani, condemned the Israeli demolitions of Palestinian homes in section A:
This is a classified as Area A and we are alarmed by and strongly condemn the measures taken by the occupation authorities.
Israel is well known for carrying out several house demolitions in the occupied West Bank, actions that are considered against international law by Amnesty International, as well as the Fourth Geneva Convention.
The latest demolitions come amid Israel's approval for the construction of 300 new homes in an illegal Jewish settlement located in East Jerusalem.
