article imageDog thieves try to sell pit bull named Bieber to original owners

By Marcus Hondro     Jun 3, 2013 in Odd News
Victoria - A couple in Victoria, B.C., had their pitbull, Bieber, go missing and on the same day found an ad posted for a dog sounding a lot like theirs. CFAX radio news reports they arranged to meet the sellers, who tried to sell them their own dog.
Police were contacted before the meeting and when the meeting occurred, once the couple confirmed the blue-nosed pit-bull was their dog, stepped in to arrest a 35-year-old-man and a 32-year-old woman.
Those two sellers were asking $800 for Bieber.
The dog and his rightful owners live in the Elk Lake region of Victoria and the ordeal started for Bieber when he got away from that couple early Saturday. Bieber normally does not have the freedom to roam.
The seller couple who have been collared for the deed were tied up with police for a while but have now been unleashed with a promise to appear in a Victoria courtroom on theft charges next month.
The Biebs was unharmed in the ordeal.
