Cranford - Coming off a successful spring recital, the Yvette Dance Studio of Performing Arts showcased the work of its student dancers in a free event held at Lincoln Avenue Elementary.
Covering the gamut from ballet and jazz to tap, hip-hop, and modern, the Yvette Dance Studio of Performing Arts delivered the first day of its annual two-day student showcase at the Lincoln Avenue Elementary school on Saturday.
On the heels of its well-choreographed spring recital on May 19, the students performed selections from the recital and provided a detailed portrayal of the numbers they are currently perfecting.
The weekend showcase was offered free to family members and to the general public and presented the Cranford community with an opportunity to enjoy the many talents incarnate in the young dancers the local studio has proudly helped blossom.
The students, ranging in age from 5 to 17, expressed an eagerness to demonstrate their learning, and the audience was delighted by the many dance varieties and by the colorful costumes adorning the dancers.
"Our type of yearly demonstration is a unique one," the studio stated on its web site. "It was started by our studio and has proven so successful that other schools around the country have adopted the same procedure."
