Reported at Digital Journal on May 24, 2013 was the unexplained disappearance
of 75 year-old Fay Burford. Burford was supposed to return from an appointment in Walnut Creek, Ca. the evening of May 23, 2013.
Calaveras authorities were alerted to the elderly resident being missing the next day. After Buford's bank card was used first in Coalinga, Ca. and then in Lake Isabella, Ca. a total of more than 315 miles from Walnut Creek, and in the wrong direction, the trail went cold.
On Sunday May 26, 2103 the Calaveras Sheriff Department posted a press release
noting the details of having found Burford.
Burford was found in a rural section of Tulare County, Ca. which would be another 90 miles
from the last use of her bank card in Lake Isabella.
Burford was found wandering on foot in this very rural area, her Jeep Cherokee is still missing. Mrs. Burford was taken to a local hospital to treat minor injuries.
The investigation into why she wound up in this condition, and so far from home without her vehicle is still underway.
